As a designer I get stupidly excited about products that are beautifully designed to elevate details of spaces. The Legrand brand of switches and outlets as well as wireless dimmers and switches make smart homes easy.
First of all I love the square shape, clean line and no screw heads showing on the design aspect.
The smart home system is based off of smart dimmers, wireless switches used in stead of 3ways all of which “talk” to a gateway that is put in a central place and acts as a brain to operate the switching.
There are also “scene” switches, for example there is a home/ away and an awake/asleep switch. Also there is a scene switch that has four settings.
All of which work from an app on your phone similar to how the Sonos sound system does. Once everything is powered up, download the app and it just finds your fixtures. You label them how you like and create scenes you prefer. Just so easy. And so beautiful!
Another design feature are the different colors of switches and plates available.
All of these can be retrofitted in to existing switch boxes to give your existing home an upgrade. And yes I am in this process now. I just love the results.
